- Young children from the age of six
- Musically gifted children
- Beginning to intermediate talented pianists
- Beginning to advanced talented vocalists
- Anyone willing to excel in the art of playing the piano or singing
My mission is to provide students with the best knowledge for their age level, to
kindle a passion for music, and encourage the commitment to succeed with the
instrument of choice.
I teach by the inherited teaching styles of my previous professors, teachers, and traditional piano methods. I incorporate the Alfred Premier Piano Course for teaching instruction and theory. I also teach by chord in conjunction with regular studies, so students can read sheet music or tablature.
Taking piano or voice lessons requires practice. The normal practice time includes 20-30 minutes of practice three times per week for beginners. Piano students also need access to at least a ¾ length keyboard for the first year, with weighted keys. A new student takes the first lesson without a contract, and if my teaching style is a fit, a contract is signed for the remainder of the school year. The contract runs from the first to last week of school. Summer lessons are optional and scheduled on a weekly basis.
Tuition is typically per 30 minute lesson, offered once a week. Tuition is paid the first lesson of each month, $16.50 x the amount of lesson days in that month. Tuition reserves your spot on my roster. If you miss for any reason, the tuition is still to be paid. If you miss because of illness, I will try and reschedule if at all possible.
Recitals/showcases are not mandatory. They are designed to give students who wish to excel in performance, a chance to do so.
