My name is Mindy Hoover and I am a vocalist & piano instructor here in the Gulf area of Texas. My family and I moved to this great community back in 2007 from Nashville, TN. I have taught music for many years in various degrees. This has helped me experience different styles of teaching which I feel is crucial when forming the talents of children. Each child is different and through my own learning, I am able to adjust and teach each one to their individual needs. Currently I teach elementary classes at the local public school. Outside of my class room, I also give private lessons during the week. Music is a beautiful aspect and enrichment into a child’s education and my goal is to help bring forth that talent in each of my students. This website was created to help aid in their learning process. It is not a comprehensive compilation by any means. It is simply meant to give some assistance while a student is learning the fundamentals of music. Here you will find many useful tools that are not only informative but fun too! Lessons are offered from age 6 for piano, and age 7 for voice. Piano lessons are balanced with music literature, theory, and the basics which include chords, scales, arpeggios, etc. Each student has a tailored instruction built on their needs.

I use the Alfred Premier Piano courses for most students with other supplemental books by Faber & Faber. For older students over 16, I use the All-in-One Alfred method. Books will be assigned when the student signs up for lessons.
